The ideal baseball off-season is 24 weeks long. At the end of our playing season, we want our athletes to get 4 weeks of rest from baseball activities – hitting and pitching. During that time we encourage our athletes to play other sports or get into the weight room. Taking time away from baseball activities and playing another sport or lifting weights helps their bodies recover from a long season and come back rejuvenated.

When our athletes get back to us with 20 weeks left in the off-season, we jump right back into baseball activities! Our hitting groups get right into their tee progressions and batting practice. Our excellent hitting coaches analyze and coach our athletes to adjust their swings to improve contact quality and get better results from every swing. 

Our pitching & arm development groups take a slightly different approach. 

For all of our pitchers, our coaches analyze their throwing mechanics during a brief, low-intensity bullpen session and our non-pitchers make position-like throws during their analysis session. After these sessions, we begin the 8-week On-Ramp portion of the off-season. The On-Ramp sessions focus on improving throwing mechanics, learning more about how throwing works, and developing healthy training habits. During this phase, we regulate the intensity of throwing sessions and slowly build up stress tolerance in the arm to get our athletes ready for our velocity development phase and later bullpens.
